Solomon was born 6 weeks premature & THANK THE LORD he is perfectly fine & healthy!! :) I cannot believe that my family has already started another generation. Man, how time flies! I am so excited to meet little Solomon. I will post pictures once I have them.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!

It's my FAVORITE time of year! I am so excited, I can't stand it. Tom & I decorated this house this weekend and if I may say so, I think we did a really good job! Now, all that's left to do is Christmas shopping, Christmas cards, Cooking, and Parties.
On another note, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had an interesting one, and I'll leave it at that.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

A Different Kind of Christmas Story

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight. My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,Transforming the yard to a winter delight. The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep. In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream. The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know,Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,And I crept to the door just to see who was near.Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child."What are you doing?" I asked without fear,"Come in this moment, it's freezing out here!Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!"For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..To the window that danced with a warm fire's lightThen he sighed and he said "Its really all right,I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night.""It's my duty to stand at the front of the line,That separates you from the darkest of times. No one had to ask or beg or implore me,I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me.My Gramps died at Pearl on a day in December,"Then he sighed, "That's a Christmas Gram always remembers."My dad stood his watch in the jungles of ' Nam ',And now it is my turn and so, here I am.I've not seen my own son in more than a while,But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile. Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,The red, white, and blue... an American flag.I can live through the cold and the being alone,Away from my family, my house and my home.I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.I can carry the weight of killing another,Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..Who stand at the front against any and all,To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall.""So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright,Your family is waiting and I'll be all right.""But isn't there something I can do, at the least,"Give you money," I asked, "or prepare you a feast? It seems all too little for all that you've done,For being away from your wife and your son."Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,"Just tell us you love us, and never forget. To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone,To stand your own watch, no matter how long. For when we come home, either standing or dead,To know you remember we fought and we bled.Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,That we mattered to you as you mattered to us."

Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our U.S. service men and women for our being able to celebrate these festivities. Let's try in this small way to pay a tiny bit of what we owe. Make people stop and think of our heroes, living and dead, who sacrificed themselves for us.

Daw Daw

I just wanted to share the latest pictures of my neighbor's son and also Hailey's "boyfriend", Dawson or "Daw Daw" as Hailey refers to him. Isn't he the cutest!?! He's a handful, though. But then again, what 3 year old boy isn't! Liz & Jeff, are you ready for this? I know yours will be a heartbreaker, too!

Phillipians 4:13

I live by this verse! The Lord is the continuous driver in my life and if he wasn't I'd be dead in a ditch somewhere. Just wanted to share this email that I received and let you know that these are DEFINITELY words to live by.

The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it!!

A Trip to Arkansas

I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. I spent the weekend in Rogers, AR with my family. My cousin, Liz, had her baby shower on Saturday so I went up for that. We really had a wonderful time. She got TONS of cute baby boy clothes. I can't wait to have one of my own!! :)
The drive was beautiful. The fall colors on the leaves were so bright and vibrant. I can't remember a fall that was so beatufiul. Maybe I just appreciate it more now that I'm older?
Well, I guess I better start off my week at work...bummer! Have a great week everyone!!

My Grandmother made this blanket along with all the bedding for the baby's nursery. She did such a good job. Maybe I'll have her make my bedding for the nursery, once it's my turn!?!
Way to go Grandmother!!! :)

Mr. and Mrs. Jason Pipkin

Well, they did it! Jason and Lindsey are now husband and wife. I have never seen Lindsey any happier, well, maybe when Hailey was born, but that's it! The Lord has truly blessed Lindsey these last few years. I couldn't be any happier for her. She finally has the family she has always wanted for Hailey.
The wedding was BEAUTIFUL. The Lord couldn't have blessed us with a more perfect fall day. We had family surprise us from out of town. That made Mom even more emotional. All in all the wedding was PERFECT!
Here are a few pictures of the newly weds. Click on "My Photo Album" to view more wedding photos.
Congrats Jason & Lindsey (Hailey too!)...may your lives be filled with Many Blessings!
I Love you!

Can you hear the Wedding Bells?

Well, we're 11 days from Lindsey & Jason's wedding. Man! I cannot believe it's that close. Mom is starting to "wig-out" since the wedding is at the house and everything has to be PERFECT (and it should be)! We've got the aisle markers finished, the wedding arch decorated, the additional spray decorations completed, the food ordered, the flowers confirmed, the tuxes measurements, the bridesmaid's dresses, and some other things completed. We need to finish the centerpieces for the tables and decorate the gazebo that they will be getting married under. But all in all, things are coming along beautifully.
I still have to find shoes, get my nails & hair done (along with everyone else). We did get our jewlery this weekend...I picked it out. If I may say so, I did a wonderful job-LOL! :)
Well, that's the latest update with this group. Oh yeah, Lindsey & Jason are registered at Target if you want to get them a gift!

Happy Birthday Lindsey!

Today my little sister, Lindsey, turns 22!! Man, she's gettin' old...just kidding. Nothing much was planned. Dad & Jason are on a church retreat for Jr. High and Lindsey refused to take the night off. Lindsey, Mom, Hailey and I did go to the Munford Festival. It was ok, nothing much to brag about except it was a little too warm. We're all suppose to meet up for lunch after church tomorrow (tradition).
HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY, LINDSEY!!! I love ya!

To Work or Not to Work

Well, I think it's time for a vacation or atleast a day off. Today is day 6, in a row, of a full work day with catering out the ying-yang. I am so exhausted I can barely keep my eyes open. I was so tired yesterday that on the way home I had to make a pit-stop @ Mom & Dad's to take a nap; luckily, I pass their house to get to mine. Enough of my griping & complaining...at least I have a job and am able to work.

6 More Days till a Day Off!

Lindsey & Jason Bought a House!

Lindsey & Jason bought the house that they swore they wouldn't be able to afford. I told them you never know what the Lord has instore for you. Needless to say, I was right! They qualified for the loan and the seller signed the contract today for them to buy the house. They are so excited!! It looks like the closing date is August 30, so please keep them in your prayers. They are both really nervous & mostly excited! The best part, they are like a mile down the road from me! I know Jason loves that part. The Lord has truly blessed my family these last few years. We are so greatful!

A Weekend in Hooterville

Well, we had a enjoyable weekend, for the most part (I was in a bad mood). Saturday we went to look at a house for Lindsey & Jason, it reminded me so much of my Mamaw & Papaw's house down in New Albany. It was kind of sad. Later that evening the guys watched Spider Man 2 & shelled some peas. Tom started his own blog, but it really needs some work. So, give us a week or two (maybe more) & we'll (I'll) have it lookin' good!
On another note, I went to my aunt's house yesterday to pick up some things & I watched one of my cousin's music videos. Blake, is the next Spielberg (Sp?), says my aunt. He is doing weddings, funerals, music videos, etc. His work is AMAZING!! I cannot believe how professional it looks. Here's what I'm getting at: one of his music videos, he made for German class, somehow got downloaded to Youtube.com. Here's the link-watch it- I Love it!! Way to go, Blake!!

Savannah's Graduation

Well, my baby sister is now a high school graduate. I am so proud of her! She graduated in 3 years!! Way to go, sis! This was the best graduation I have ever been to. There were no more than 20 - 30 graduates & the whole thing lasted 15 mins-I'm not kidding. PLUS, they had cake! It took me longer to get dressed for work than the length of this graduation.
When I saw Savannah walk down the aisle in her cap & gown I lost it! I think I was more emotional than my mom, if you can believe that. I remember when Savannah took her first step and now she's 18 & ready for college. MAN, how time flies!
Well, this has been a busy week...as you can tell by my many posts! Check out my photo album for more Graduation pictures... Way to go, Jo! We are all so very proud of you! I love you!!

Green Acres

Well, I went to ol' Ma & Pa's house last night. We sat out on the patio shellin' peas Pa had grown in his garden.
On a serious note, I have figured out my family is the new generation of Green Acres. We grew up in G'town (New York) and moved to the country (Hooterville). Instead of going shopping, watching TV, playing, etc. We (actually Dad) are now coming home from work to clean-out the garden, pick the vegetables & fruit that are ripe and then sitting down before and after meals (which usually come from the garden, except for the meat) and shellin' peas, beans, etc. I think it's a hoot! I LOVE IT!! This is something my dad has always wanted & I think it's great that he has achieved his goal. Well, I just wanted to share with y'all the latest with my family. Y'all come back now, ya hear! (I know that's from the Beverly Hillbillies-sp?)

All Alone

Well I made it through my first night at our new house without Tom. I had to wait until I was extremely tired before I could go to bed. I had all my outside lights on so my house was nice & lit. I will be so glad once Tom is back at home... 3 more days to go! I hate it when he's gone, but atleast it was only for 5 days and not a year! Please pray for me while Tom is away... I get so nervous at night. Also, pray that Tom has a safe trip on Friday. Have a good week everyone!

Bridal Shower

Yesterday I threw Lindsey a bridal shower. We had a great time & a wonderful turn out. We had neighbor's come from our first neighborhood we lived in, we hadn't seen them in a year or so. It was nice seeing everyone & just spending time together. Lindsey & Jason got 2 cookware sets, a steak knife set, a cutting knife set, candles and candle holders, ducky decor` for Hailey's bathroom, and other odds and ends for the kitchen. So, if you're going to get them a gift update your copy of the Target gift registry. Below are a few pictures from the shower.

My friend, Marjorie, had her baby girl, Naomi Lynn Isabella Mason, today at 4:18am. She weighed in at 6lbs. 11oz. I cannot wait to see her! Marjorie said she and Naomi are doing great. Tom & I are going to go visit this precious little angel in about 2 weeks...I'm so excited! Just wanted to update everyone with the latest news. Welcome to the world Little Naomi!

A Relaxing Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend. Saturday was Mom's Birthday - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! We spent pretty much all day at the pool and then had a seafood dinner at Mom & Dad's compliments of Dad. He's such a good cook! Tom & Jason went to play 9 holes of golf on Saturday & tied. I'm so glad they are already doing the brother-in-law bonding. Twinkles (Aunt Sandy) was in town all weekend & we enjoyed floating in the pool & soaking up all the sun. I think we've come to the conclusion that our skin isn't going to get any darker, but then again we could be wrong... I would love to be wrong. Well, now it's Monday & I'm at work...bummer! I guess I better get some things accomplished today. Have a good week!

Hailey swimming by herself!

Lindsey & her frog, Fred gettin' some sun. This frog was so funny. He stayed by the pool the whole time Lindsey was there & didn't leave until we all went in for the night. He would soak up the sun & then when he'd get hot he'd jump in the water. I LOVE this frog!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a great 4th, except for Hailey's trip to the ER. She's fine... just fell off her little picnic table & smacked her head on the concrete. We just wanted to make sure there was no internal bleeding or anything. PRAISE THE LORD SHE IS FINE!!
We spent ALL day at Mom & Dad's with a group of people from work and Sandy & Chance came in town. We had a BLAST!! We played volleyball for the most part, swam, ate, played horseshoes and just had a wonderful time. I am so glad the ran held out till last night til we were towards the end of our firework show Jason put on for us!
I hope everyone had a wonderful & blessed 4th of July.

What a Weekend

Me with a Face Mask & Sandy looking Goofy while we played a game of Phase 10 with Lindsey, Jason & Tom. PHASE 10 IS THE BOMB!! I know we look like crap, but hey, we spent ALL day in the HOT SUN!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I did, for the most part. On Saturday, Aunt Sandy & I took a yoga class...bikramyoga, ever heard of it? Well, this is a type of yoga you do in a room headed to 105 degrees. Let's just say after that hour & a half in a room heated to 105 degrees, I was so dehydrated that I would barely walk & I thought I was going to puke everywhere! Needless to say, I won't take that type of yoga again. Then, I spent the rest of the sunny part of Saturday in the pool working on my tan. Sunday, the good people, Tom & I are included in that, went to church & then I spent ALL of Sunday in the pool. We cannot wait til tomorrow!! My parents are having like 30+ people over for the 4th. We're floating in the pool, playing volleyball & some other games Dad has & just enjoying all the good food. Tom, Jason & I are going to buy fireworks this afternoon, so we can have our own lovely show.
Get this, our neighbors behind us at 10pm last night were doing fireworks! I was like HELLO! Some of us have to get up and go to work in the morning. Luckily, it didn't last long.
Happy a Happy 4th, Everyone!!!

The Weekend is Here!

I hope everyone had a good week. It went by pretty quickly, I thought. I will try & have my campout pictures posted next week... I'm a little busy & behind. I cannot wait till tomorrow when I'm floating in the pool without a care in the world. That's the best way to spend your weekends during the summer, in T-County. Nothing new to report at the moment. Hopefully, I'll have some exciting news to report on Tuesday! Pray for me!!
Well, I'm headed home for the weekend. Have a great weekend!!

Spring River Here We Come

Well, Tom & I leave tomorrow morning to go camping. I am so excited! We are going with some friends of ours that I went with last year while Tom & their husbands were in Iraq. I am really looking forward to NO WORK and ALL SUN! This is the first get-away Tom & I have had since he's been home since December. We are in so much need of a get-away. Pray that we have a safe trip & that I don't drop my underwear in the toilet again this year (a story for another day!)

Hailey's 2nd Birthday!

Well, I finally got Hailey's brithday pictures download yesterday. So, I thought what the heck, let's post for everyone to see. She's so funny! I can't believe she is 2 already & yes, she's is a terrible two when she doesn't get her way. But she's a cupcake!

Well, I started today off with a trip to the dentist to get some cavitites filled. How FUN! It's kind of slow here at work so I thought I'd make a post. I think I'm going to hit the gym after work today so I can start getting in shape for my bridesmaids dress. I also need start getting my house in order since Tom & I are going out of town this weekend--YEAH!!! Well, I guess back to work for me.

Wedding Dress Shopping

Happy Sunday! Not much to report here in TN. We had a lot of thunderstorms this weekend, but nothing serious. My mom, Lindsey and I went bridal gown shopping yesterday. Lindsey & I had a really good time helping each other fit into the dresses. Needless to say, Lindsey & I are both going on diets. We have about 4 months to loose some weight! Lindsey found 3 dresses that she really likes & I think she has decided on what color red us bridesmaids are to wear. I was the test-dummy on the colors and the style.
